Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault

Colin will continue his work with Rep. Melissa Wintrow and others to protect women who are victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. This includes:

  • Prohibiting domestic abusers from possessing firearms.
  • Modernizing our sexual assault statutes to reflect contemporary standards of criminal conduct.

Gender Pay Equity

Colin believes in equal pay for equal work. But women in Idaho earn $0.74 on the dollar to men, and the problem is only worse for women of color. Colin will propose the following solutions and more to address this embarrassing issue:

  • Allow employees to openly discuss wages without fear of retaliation or discrimination.
  • Prohibit employers from asking for past salary history in wage negotiations.
  • Require strict compliance and with nondiscrimination policies for state contractors.

Reproductive Healthcare

Colin believes we should work to increase access to healthcare for all Idahoans, especially access to reproductive healthcare for women. He will will work to:

  • Allow pharmacists to prescribe contraceptives.
  • Require insurance companies to provide up to 12 months of contraceptives at a time.
  • Resist efforts to defund important healthcare services such as Planned Parenthood.
